Government Technology’s passion is helping spread best practices and spurring innovation in the public sector. The Minnesota Digital Government Summit is designed to do just that. The summit has an advisory board that gathers public- and private-sector leaders to create an agenda designed to make that passion relevant and actionable to the state and local government organizations attending the summit. Participants tell us they use the inspirational keynotes, leadership discussions, networking breaks, and the timely topics discussed in the numerous breakout sessions to help advance the goals of their organizations.

If you influence or participate in technology decisions or implementations at any level, you will want to attend.  Don't miss this opportunity to see the latest in digital government solutions, keep abreast of current policy issues, and network with key government executives, technologists and industry specialists.

Registration is $25 for all government employees!

Why Broadband Matters
Danna MacKenzie is the Executive Director of the Office of Broadband Development for the State of Minnesota. Danna is helping Governor Dayton and policy makers to ensure all Minnesotans have the opportunity to access high-speed broadband. Hear the progress that Minnesota is making to make these goals a reality and why it is so important for our State. Danna will share lessons and perspective on strategies to close digital literacy and broadband adoption gaps.

Transforming Digital Communications
Jenna Covey is the Director of New Media for Governor Mark Dayton. Jenna will share her web communications strategies for government using innovative marketing solutions and new technologies. Jenna believes that technology has the power to radically change the way that people interact with government and her job allows her to connect thousands of people and highlight the good work that public servants do - that is pretty cool.

Location Based Services/GIS
Geography, space, location, place. With a mobile device in hand, consumers want information about what or who is near them, their current location is the center of focus. Whether it’s a public utility worker trying to visualize an underground pipe and run a network analysis to find the valves which feed the pipe beneath, or you are simply trying to see which friends are nearby -- with mobile everything is about location. This session will cover the latest technologies and showcase examples of successful location based services in government.

Presented by: Dan Ross, Geographic Information Officer, State of Minnesota
