4. What is the board/management structure?

CTN Coon Rapids is the Cable Department for the City of Coon Rapids with oversight by the City Manager. The City Council has oversight over all city operations and departments. The Station Manager serves as the local cable franchise administrator.

 

5. How many full-time and part-time staff members?

CTN employs 4 full-time and 5 part-time employees.

 

6. How many channels does your organization manage?

CTN produces content and programs for four channels

    • CTN Information – Comcast 14, CenturyLink 8050
    • CTN Community – Comcast 15/859HD, CenturyLink 8046/8546HD
    • CTN Government – Comcast 16/799HD, CenturyLink 8047/8547HD
    • CTN Plus – Comcast 19, CenturyLink 8051/8551HD


CTN also assists in management and programming for the local school district channel:

    • Anoka-Hennepin School District: Comcast 18, CenturyLink 8035

7. Do you have a fun fact or story about your organization?

One unique thing about CTN is our success in partnered production service projects. Although CTN began generating revenue twenty years ago, only in the last ten years has it become a significant supplement to regular cable funding. There are many challenges to production services, but it is well worth the benefits of additional funding, better equipment and the improvement of production quality for regular programming.

Current client projects include Snocross on CBS Sports, the Eagles Cancer Telethon on the Rochester NBC affiliate, St. Thomas Football webstream and scoreboard feed, Twin Cities Live remote productions on KSTP, and all fifty St. Paul Saints home games on community television, webstream and scoreboard feed. The Saints telecasts are carried in HD and SD to most of the Twin Cities community stations and many stations around Minnesota. Here is a sample video of our partner projects.
