CTN Coon Rapids is the Cable Department for the City of Coon Rapids with oversight by the City Manager. The City Council has oversight over all city operations and departments. The Station Manager serves as the local cable franchise administrator.
CTN employs 4 full-time and 5 part-time employees.
CTN produces content and programs for four channels
CTN also assists in management and programming for the local school district channel:
One unique thing about CTN is our success in partnered production service projects. Although CTN began generating revenue twenty years ago, only in the last ten years has it become a significant supplement to regular cable funding. There are many challenges to production services, but it is well worth the benefits of additional funding, better equipment and the improvement of production quality for regular programming.
Current client projects include Snocross on CBS Sports, the Eagles Cancer Telethon on the Rochester NBC affiliate, St. Thomas Football webstream and scoreboard feed, Twin Cities Live remote productions on KSTP, and all fifty St. Paul Saints home games on community television, webstream and scoreboard feed. The Saints telecasts are carried in HD and SD to most of the Twin Cities community stations and many stations around Minnesota. Here is a sample video of our partner projects.
