MN Department of Commerce
In Minnesota, the
State of Minnesota's Department of Commerce oversees broadband policy and State activities, including the
Governor's Broadband Task Force. MACTA will continue to monitor the activities of the Task Force as it develops " an action plan for identifying and correcting disparities in access and adoption of Broadband in all Minnesota communities urban, rural, and suburban."
Blandin on Broadband
Information on broadband use, access, and trends in rural Minnesota. Sponsored by the
Blandin Foundation and their
Broadband Initiative. NOTE: MACTA neither endorses nor has a position on the Blandin on Broadband website and its material. However, the website provides a good overview of the activities taking place in Minnesota, especially in rural Minnesota.
National Broadband Plan
The overall goal of the
National Broadband Plan (NBP), which was released on March 16, 2010, is to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable broadband Internet access and have the skills necessary to take advantage of it. As Congress and the FCC take steps to implement the NBP, MACTA will continue to bring its members the latest information of how these actions will affect your communities.
NATOA Broadband Principles
NATOA, MACTA's parent organization, adopted its own
Broadband Principles which support and strengthen their resolve to help the nation achieve the broadband capacity and access it needs for the future.
